Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)
This is a points-tested visa for skilled workers who have not sponsored by family or state or territory government. This visa is a permanent visa allows you to stay and work permanently in Australia.
You need to satisfy the following requirements:
- have a relevant occupation;
- have your occupation assessed as suitable for that occupation;
- be under 45 years of age;
- have 60 points – the points-test pass mark;
- have competent English competent;
- and be invited to apply
Skilled Sponsored Visa (Subclass 190)
This is a points-tested visa for skilled workers who have been nominated and sponsored by an Australian state or territory government. This is a permanent visa allows you to stay and work permanently in Australia.
You need to satisfy the following requirements:
- have a relevant occupation;
- have your occupation assessed as suitable for that occupation;
- be under 45 years of age;
- have 60 points – the points-test pass mark;
- have competent English competent;
- and be invited to apply
Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 489)
This visa allows you to stay and work in regional or low population metropolitan areas of Australia for 4 years. This visa may lead to permanent residency should you satisfy the requirements of Subclass 887.
You need satisfy the following in order to be eligible to apply for this visa:
- be nominated by state or territory government or be sponsored by a family member;
- hold a subclass 475, 487, 495 or 496 visa (extended pathway)
- have relevant occupation
- have occupation assessed as suitable
- meet the pass mark of 60;
- be under 45 years of age;
- have competent English
